Our interdisciplinary team possesses a deep understanding of the global seafood industry, along with extensive expertise in both quantitative and qualitative research methods, data analysis, and stakeholder engagement. We offer socio-economic, environmental, nutritional and fish welfare performance assessments for organisations at any node along the value chain and provide guidance and support to enhance sustainability performance.

Dr Stephanie Horn
Dr Stephanie Horn, our Co-Founder & Lead Analyst, brings extensive expertise in sustainability performance assessments. Her work focuses on navigating the complex trade-offs among the environmental, nutritional, and economic dimensions of aquaculture and integrated agri-aquaculture systems.

Dr Richard Newton
Dr Richard Newton is our Co-Founder & LCA Specialist and a lecturer in resilient food systems at the Institute of Aquaculture. His work has focused on zero waste strategies to enhance efficiency and economic performance, while reducing environmental impact. Research has included integrating food systems, new technologies and structural innovations throughout aquaculture value chains, from raw material supply to consumption.

Anton Immink
Anton Immink is our Co-Founder & Improvement Advisor and CEO of ThinkAqua. He has an M.Sc. in Aquaculture and 30 years’ experience of aquaculture sector development across Africa, Asia, and Europe, delivering projects with farmers, supply chain leaders, tech innovators and regulators. He has successfully delivered projects for IFC, FAO, DFID/FCDO, GIZ, EU and many private clients.

Prof. Dave Little
Prof. Dave Little is our Co-Founder & Science Adviser and currently the Chair of Aquatic Resource Development and Deputy Director at the Institute of Aquaculture, University of Stirling. He has more than 40 years professional experience in the sector. Research and educational interests focus around the societal impacts of aquaculture and, increasingly, highlighting the importance of seafood in food systems. He has developed and coordinated a wide range of research, both externally funded and through postgraduate research with a focus on Asia and Africa. He is active in post-doctoral student mentorship beyond his own group of students playing an active role on EU and UK-based programmes. He has published widely on the interface between aquatic food production, broader natural resource management and development and been a vocal advocate and practitioner of interdisciplinary systems research.

Bianca Gilardi Quadrio Curzio
Bianca Gilardi Quadrio Curzio is a Sustainability Analyst at Blue Food Performance. She supports sustainability performance assessments and strategy development across aquaculture and blue food systems. Before joining the team, she worked in bioplastics and ocean-based sustainability projects, leading carbon accounting and ESG strategy development, and contributing to a company-wide Life Cycle Assessment. She is passionate about advancing sustainable solutions that protect marine ecosystems and strengthen the resilience of global food systems.
